“The Right Use of Medical Plants” Seminar was Held with the Business Association of Our Gerontology Department

Balıkesir University (BAÜN) Faculty of Health Sciences, Gerontology Department of 60+ Freshening University Coordination in the scope of Science Café activities carried out in coordination with the Higher Education Committee (YÖK) “The Right Use of Medical Plants ” The seminar was held.

Atatürk Congress and Culture Center at the event held in Malazgirt Hall, BAÜN Vice Rector and Faculty of Science-Edebiyat Faculty Professor. Dr. Fatih took place as a speaker for sale. At the seminar, the faculty of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Gerontology and students attended 60+ students of the University of Freshening, BAÜN 60+.

Prof. Dr. Fatih Satıl in the seminar informed about the effects of medical plants used in traditional and complementary medical applications, the right methods of use and health risks that unconscious consumption can create. Satıl discusses the importance of collecting, storing, preparation and consuming appropriate quantities of medicinal plants, especially in older adults, it has taken into interaction with drugs used in herbal products.

In the event that is important for the development of professional knowledge and awareness of students at Gerontology Department, the conscious use of medical plants, health literacy and healthy aging issues were discussed. With the students of Gerontology Department, 60+ Freshing University has also contributed to the gathering of students, intergeneration learning and sharing of information.

The seminar ended after Prof. Dr. Fatih Satıl answered questions from participants.
